TINY TOES BABY MASSAGE

Welcome to Tiny Toes Baby Massage Parent Courses

I am Hayley Lennon and I am a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with I.A.I.M.

Being a qualified Nursery Nurse (NNEB) I have worked for many years with children and their families in a number of different settings such as Children and Family Centres and for the Health Visiting team as a Community Nurse Nurse.

It has been a natural step for me to train as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with the  International Association of Infant Massage ( I.A.I.M.)

This qualification enables me to train parents to learn how to massage their babies.

I have an up to date DBS Certificate.

I am also a parent to two grown up children .

You can attend Tiny Toes Baby Massage in either a group or individually at home.

The group enables you to  meet other parents in a calm relaxed atmosphere.

The individual sessions will provide  you with one to one attention with yourself and your baby.

Benefits of Baby Massage

Baby Massage is all about communication and nurturing touch between you and your baby.

My Baby Massage course is suitable for new-borns up to one year. The course will enable you to observe and understand your baby's cues and encourage the bonding process between you and your baby in a calm, relaxing way in a secure environment.

The aim of the course is to teach you basic strokes and routines which promote better sleep and relieves colic, wind and constipation.

You will also learn lots of important information such as the best oil to use, your baby's cues and what do they mean, baby's reflexes and the best conditions to massage your baby.

Studies have shown that positive touch with infants leads to healthy physical and brain development.

The many benefits of Baby Massage include:

Infant-parent attachment/bonding
Relaxation
Makes your baby feel loved
Boosts immune system

During the sessions we will go with what your baby is telling us so if your baby cries, needs feeding or changing please feel you are able to do this any time.

About I.A.I.M

The purpose of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) is to promote nurturing touch and communication through training, education and research so that every parent, care-giver and child are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community.

IAIM was founded by Vimala McClure in 1986. Following her experience of working in an orphanage in northern India in 1973, Vimala brought the traditional practice of infant massage to the West. She has since written many books including Infant Massage – a Handbook for Loving Parents.

IAIM became an internationally established organisation in 1992. Since 1997 they have trained around 10,000 Certified Infant Massage Instructors (CIMIs) in the UK, with Instructors coming from a wide range of backgrounds.

The IAIM curriculum is being taught in more than 50 countries
and has been developed and refined for over 30 years through research, reflective practice and practical experience.
This has resulted in a widely endorsed and implemented
parenting programme.
